New 2017 Toyota Tundra at Kim's Toyota for Meridian, MS
The new 2017 Toyota Tundra is an excellent truck that will offer full-size capability. The many configurations will ensure that every driver can find their perfect Tundra, and the truck can even be customized for serious off-road adventures with the TRD Pro model. With rugged good looks and a range of impressive power features, the Tundra will not only work hard but look great while doing so. The 2017 Tundra is returning to the new model year mostly unchanged, but it will add a few new color options and standard features on the Limited trims.
Under the Tundra's Hood
The Tundra is offered with two powerful V8 engine options. The standard engine is a 4.6-liter V8 and it will work to produce 310 horsepower and 327 lb-ft of torque. The 4.6-liter has a maximum towing rating of 6,800 pounds. Toyota also makes available a 5.7-liter V8 that boasts 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. This engine, when properly equipped, has a maximum towing rating of 10,500 pounds. Both engines will rely on regular gasoline, though the 5.7-liter is E85-capable. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, though there are two drive system options, either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The four-wheel drive system has a two-speed transfer case. Toyota provides the opportunity to equip the Tundra for off-road expeditions, courtesy of their TRD Off-Road package. This package, which is available on the SRS, Limited, and 1974 Edition, will equip the Tundra with skid plates, tow hooks, 18-inch TRD wheels, trail-tuned shock absorbers, and off-road tires.
Design of Toyota Tundra
There are three optional cab styles with the Toyota Tundra. The two-door regular cab has seating for three, while the extended double cab and CrewMax crew cabs offer seating for up to five passengers with the front bucket seats or six passengers with the front bench seat. The trim lineup will start with the base SR, and this is available with the extended or regular cab body styles. This trim comes well-equipped with daytime running lights, a damped tailgate, a windshield wiper de-icer, and an integrated trailer brake controller. It will also have a 6.1-inch touchscreen interface with a six-speaker sound system, auxiliary audio input jack, and more. There are many options available with the Tundra, and even ways to add high-end amenities. For the ultimate luxury experience, we recommend the Premium trim level. This trim is offered with crew cabs, and it adds unique styling elements, a sunroof, and both ventilated and heated power front seats. The standalone options that are available on most trims include running boards and heated tow mirrors.
